The price significantly depends on the breeder. A reputable breeder will never sell you a puppy of this breed cheaper than $1000. Never purchase a dog from a pet shop because almost all puppies come there from torture mills and have serious health problems including PRA and CHD. Dalmatian Dog Colors, Shedding, Full Size and Average Weight
The Dalmatian coat is short, finem satiny, and pleasant to touch. The coat on the head feels like velvet. The main color of this dog is white with well-defined black or deep brown spots over the coat. The spots are usually round, evenly distributed and vary from dime size to half dollar size. Somewhat smaller spots can be seen on the head, legs, and tail. The ears seldom have any spots but if they do, they look very nice. Some specialists believe that the Dalmatian's spots may have appeared as a result of a mutation in the ticking gene. The puppies are born completely white, the spots appear later on. Sometimes they are born with black or liver-colored patches which are larger than normal-size spots. Dalmatians with large patches are not suitable for the show ring, however. Tricolor Dalmatians are rare. They usually have tan, black and liver markings on the body. They aren't suited for shows as well. These beautiful doggies shed year-round. Brush your pet weekly with a medium-soft rubber curry brush and avoid bathing him too frequently. Males and females stand between 19 and 24 inches tall and weigh from 48 to 55 pounds.
